Micaela graduated in 2017 as a Speech Therapist and Audiologist with a BA Speech and Hearing degree from the University of Witwatersrand, Micaela completed her community service year at Tembisa Tertiary Hospital in 2018, treating and assessing both the adult and paediatric population.

Thereafter, Micaela joined private practice in 2019. She has since worked in hospitals and a rehabilitation centre within a multidisciplinary setting, as well as in various special needs and mainstream schools in Johannesburg.

Micaela absolutely loves working with children as she sees their confidence grow, as their communication develops.
She has a special interest in working with children with special needs and is passionate about working with children in the Autism spectrum. Micaela is an advocate for early intervention therapy.

Micaela completed her level 1 PROMPT training, which has given her the resources and skills to treat oral motor difficulties and speech sound disorders more effectively. She has also completed the DIR-Floortime introduction training and Level 1 Makaton training .

Micaela and Carla worked together in 2019/2020. They then crossed paths again in 2022 and joined forces to become partners at CM Therapy in 2023.
